Privacy policy for Lång
Last updated 2025-08-15.
Lång helps you stay on track with day-to-day spending. Your plans and the spending you log stay on your device – they are never sent to us or to anyone else.
The only information we receive is anonymous usage data, which helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.
This policy applies to the Lång iOS app, our website, and other ways you interact with us – such as mailing list sign-ups and surveys. It explains what information is involved, why we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Lång is made by Fleecelabs AB (organisation number 556829-5363), Sweden.
Fleecelabs AB is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What we collect
Spending data you add · When you make a plan or log spending, that information is stored locally on your device in a secure container shared only between the Lång app and its widgets. Other apps on your device cannot access it. The data is encrypted on your device using iOS’s built-in data protection, which is strongest when your device has a passcode set. It is not sent anywhere, and it is not included in the usage data.
Notifications · If you turn on daily reminders, Lång schedules local notifications on your device. These do not go through any external service and do not require a push notification token.
Anonymous usage data · We use two EU-hosted analytics services – TelemetryDeck and Aptabase – to understand how Lång is used and help improve it.
They record anonymous events such as completing onboarding, creating a plan, or changing settings, along with basic device and app details like your iPhone model and iOS/app version. Some technical information, such as whether an error occurred, may also be included.
Neither service receives your plan or spending amounts, and we don’t receive any information that could identify you. The data is aggregated and cannot reasonably be linked back to you.
On our website, we use TelemetryDeck to count visits and understand which pages are viewed. We don’t use advertising cookies.
You can read their privacy policies here: TelemetryDeck, Aptabase.
Mailing list · You can choose to join our mailing list. We collect your email address to send updates and other information you’ve asked for. We use Tally to collect sign-ups and Buttondown to send these emails. Both services process your data on our behalf. You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time using the link in any email you receive. See their privacy policies here: Buttondown, Tally.
Surveys · Taking part in a survey is always optional. Surveys may include multiple-choice questions and free-form text. They are designed to be anonymous – we do not ask for or collect any information that can identify you, and responses are not linked to you in any way. Please don’t include personal details in free-form answers. If a response appears to identify someone, we delete or redact it.
Apple’s data collection · When you download Lång from the App Store or start a subscription, Apple collects and processes your personal and payment information. This information is not shared with us and is handled under Apple’s privacy policy.
Other contact channels · If you contact us through social media or another service, we’lluse the information you’ve chosen to share with us only to reply. That service will process your data under its own privacy policy.
How we use this information
Your plans and spending entries are used only on your device to show your daily safe spend and other in-app features you choose to use.
Anonymous usage data helps us understand how Lång is used, fix problems, and make improvements.
Mailing list details are used to send updates and other information you’ve asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Survey responses are used to gather feedback and ideas to improve Lång. They are anonymous and not linked to you.
Contact details you provide, such as in an email to us, are used only to reply to you.
We do not use your information for advertising or share it with others for that purpose.
Legal bases
We rely on:
- Consent for the mailing list (you can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link).
- Legitimate interests to understand app usage and improve Lång (anonymous usage data).
- Legitimate interests to reply to emails and handle support.
Data stored only on your device is not processed by us.
We have carried out a balancing test – as required under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) – and believe our use of legitimate interests is not overridden by your rights and freedoms. This assessment is reviewed periodically to ensure it remains accurate. Available on request.
Where your data is stored
On your device – your plans, spending entries, settings, and other information the app stores to provide its features. If you use device backups (for example iCloud backup), your Lång data may be included in those backups. Apple processes iCloud backups under its own privacy policy. Deleting the app removes local data from your device, but any copies in backups remain until those backups are deleted.
Within our analytics providers – anonymous usage data is stored by TelemetryDeck and Aptabase in the EU. See their privacy policies here: TelemetryDeck, Aptabase.
Within our mailing list provider – mailing list details are stored by Buttondown (US-based). Transfers outside the EU/EEA are safeguarded by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (2021), as set out in their data processing agreement. See their privacy policy.
Within our form provider – mailing list sign-up details and survey responses are stored by Tally (EU-based). Tally uses certain US-based subprocessors (Postmark and HubSpot) for email delivery and support. Transfers outside the EU/EEA are safeguarded by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (2021). See their privacy policy.
Within our email provider – any contact details you send us by email are processed by Joker.com/CSL GmbH (EU-based). As our domain registrar, they may transfer certain domain registration data to ICANN (US-based) and registry operators as required by domain registration rules. See their privacy policy.
Some providers listed above may store data outside the EU/EEA. When this happens, we use lawful transfer safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (2021) or other measures recognised under EU law.
How long we keep it
On your device – your plans, spending entries, settings, and other information the app stores to provide its features. This stays until you delete it or remove the app.
Anonymous usage data – kept by TelemetryDeck and Aptabase for as long as needed to analyse trends and improve the app.
Mailing list details – kept until you unsubscribe, after which they are removed.
Survey responses – kept as long as needed to review feedback and plan improvements.
Emails you send us – kept while we handle your request and for a short period afterwards, unless the law requires longer.
Your rights (EU/EEA)
If you live in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Ask us to limit or stop certain uses of it.
- Receive it in a format you can take to another service.
These rights apply only to the personal data we hold or process – not to data stored only on your device.
To use these rights, email privacy@lang.money.
You can withdraw consent at any time (for example, by unsubscribing from emails), and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
If you’re not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In Sweden, this is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).
Children
Lång is not directed at children. You must be at least the minimum age of digital consent in your country to use it. This age varies by country, and we follow the law where you live. If we learn we have collected personal data from a child under the applicable age without consent, we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We review these measures periodically and update them when needed.
If our company or the app changes
If we sell or transfer the company, the app, or our assets, the new owner will have to follow this privacy policy for any personal data we hold at that time. Where required by law, we will tell you about the change before it takes effect.
Changes
If we make important changes to this policy, we’ll update it here and, if appropriate, let you know in the app or by email.
